PINS & LACE CLUB (shown: Ice Blossoms & Fiori di Sole from 2010 club)

2012, year three of my lace and shawl pin club, is here! The club has four installments, sent starting January, April, July and October 15th. Shipments are staggered, with international going first. My hope is to have everyone receive their packages as close together as possible. What is included? That's up to you! This year includes a pattern only option, and, for those of you with too many shawl pins, it also includes a yarn and pattern only option. In response to those of you who have had trouble getting to the computer on time due to work (really - work? It cuts into knitting time!), I am opening sign-ups in the evening for the September 15th sign-ups and in the morning for the October 15th sign-ups.

Here's how it will work. There will be two sign-up periods on my site, one beginning Thursday September 15 at 7 pm PST and another beginning October 15 at a time to be determined. There will be 4 shipments of 100 shawl pins and 200 skeins of yarn available overall. (I had to limit the pins - I can only handle so much!) Half will go on sale in September and half in October. These include a pattern, as well. After all of those are sold, I will open pattern only club sales on Ravelry. If you have already bought one of the pin and/or yarn options, do not buy the pattern only option. You will be gifted the patterns through Ravelry as an eBook. Because of the different options and the need to plan in advance in ordering yarn, club sign-ups will be for the full year only - no half year options will be available. The 2012 patterns will all be delivered via Ravelry as an eBook - much like my subscriptions. Pattern only sales will close January 31, 2012. Clear as mud? Don't worry; if you don't quite get it ordered the way you want it, just write to me and we'll get it all sorted out! The idea is to make you happy, so no stress!

Now to the fine print. Each Romi's Choice shipment includes a new elements shawl/scarf pin, link to download a lace shawl pattern of my design, and yarn from a different indie dyer. This year, not all yarn will necessarily be lace weight, and there will be some fun blends! If you are sensitive to animal fibers, there's also a fuzz free option! Or if you like, you can choose a la cart options and put them together. You have the choice of metals for the pins, and you also have the option of adding the hand-dyed yarn from different Indie dyers - both regular and fuzz free - to the mix! My favorite option, Romi's Choice, includes my picks for metal to coordinate with your yarn. Patterns will be in pdf format, and your package will arrive with a url so that you can retrieve the pattern at your leisure. At the end of the shipment month, your eBook will update on Ravelry to include the pattern. Did I mention that there will be a fun little extra in the eBook for the end of the year? And that you get other fun little extras in your packages? (Hint: think beads!)

The pins and patterns you receive will be brand new designs. This year, because there is pattern only option, the club patterns will not be released to the public until 2013. The pins will be available to the public at a later date, if at all. For those of you who would like to join me, there will always be knit-alongs for the patterns in my Ravelry group.
